Back in 2004 Gwalia decided to turn a badly damaged property in Clase into a community house for the people of the area to use. Local community members volunteered one day a week of their time to renovate the house. Four Clase residents and five members of Swansea's ethnic minority community worked on the house. They refurbished the house and in the process learnt many practical skills such as painting, plastering and carpentry. After eight months the house was finally opened with a large part of the community present to celebrate this exciting new venture.

Gwalia handed over the house to the community and it is now run by a committee of dedicated volunteers. The house is always buzzing with activity, every day there is something going on, there are many courses such as Maths, English and basic computers skills run by Gorseinon College, every course is accredited.

Cookery classes are run two days a week where we eat what we’ve cooked. Also we prepare cooked breakfasts twice a week where you can come in, relax and eat without the effort of cooking.
Fortnightly, Project Sol (homeopathy) uses the house for consultation and for donations can offer many herbal remedies. A health visitor from Sure Start is based at the house and is available most days for a chat on any health issues you may have.

Each Tuesday we have tutors from the Community Online project who run digital tasters from the computer suite which boasts six state of the art Apple computers and free internet access.

The View has just celebrated its second birthday and we hope to celebrate many more.
