Caemawr Forum Committee Meeting.
9th Aug 2007.

1. Attendance: Julian Watts, Tyron Francis, Keith Baker, Garfield Morgan

2. Apologies: Amy Rees

3. Julian reported that some income had been generated from POD rental, including £70 from voting use. Also, that we should be able to claim £50 per day use for Digital Inclusion from regeneration fund. This is for approx 20 weeks so far.

Mike Hedges was looking to use the POD for an evening surgery. Query as to if we can invoice him for room hire??

4. It was noted that funding would be given to the use of Steve, the youth worker and for the play group.

5. The painting of the POD was discussed at length, with proper preparation as a must for a decent, long-term effect. Tyron to contact Dan Spinks re graffiti costings/youthn project.

6. Prue is contacting the council as regards essential repairs/electricsto the POD and possibility of any paint supplies. Anti-vandal paint already to hand for the roof.

7. Discussion and ideas submitted to improve and extend the POD site were made, to include:
a) Creation of a full size base for the storage POD and/or further full size POD to the rear of existing POD.
b) Installation of a ramp to the left of existing POD, leading to a new veranda to be built at the rear.
c) Alteration to rear of existing POD, to replace window and water-damaged panelling with a doorway leading onto veranda or as a connection to an additional POD. (This doorway deemed to be essential in any event, as an emergency exit).
d) Julian to contact chap in charge of Council Building Apprentices to see if they can take this onboard.

8. A date for the next Caemawr Forum has been set Wednesday 5th Sept 2007 at Graig school. Initial agenda to include:
a) Traffic Calming.
b) Bridging the Gap (children's play).
c) Change to the executive forum to include more tennants.

9. Take-up of offer of a Bwstler mini-bus for a community trip discussed and Julian to contact Sarah of SCVS to set up a trip to Brecon Mountain Centre on Thursday 30th August. A refundable booking fee of £3 has been suggested. ( Note: Availability of one bus has been confirmed with an allowance of £75??)

10. Next committee meeting to be on Thursday 23rd August at 1.30 p.m. Object: To establish a business plan to present to a professional body for help.
